I've always felt the price of gasoline will inevitably rise

Here in the eastern U S, it's happened. The price of gas has come down from the October peaks but is till very high in relation to, say mid 2004 it's already having an affect on price of housing in the exurbs.

My broker at Fido, who lives an hour plus drive from New York City in the burbs, mentioned last week that his neighbor reduced the price of his house by about a third to make a sale and move to Jersey City -- a five minute ferry ride to the financial district.

Edit: Whoops -- mis-addressed one more cup of coffee and I'll be fine.
