I worked on the upgrades to the ABB robot work cells that seal and spot-weld the 'outrigger', transmission hump, and floor pans for the big GM vans at the Wenztville plant in MO. It's fascinating stuff to watch. The painting robots at Ford Truck in Norfolk are also a trip. They use lasers and machine vision to match the spraying to exactly what's coming down the line.

Robots are cool, ..that's why we give them all names. Like "..Burt & Ernie..", the big Cincinatti-Miclarons at the P&G Fox River plant in Green Bay. They handle all the rolls of Bounty Towels on-&-off of the surge tables after the wrappers and ahead of the casepacking equipment. Then there was "..Huey, Dewey & Louie.." that handled all the finished cases at the J&J plant in IL. I forget where "..Big Bird.." (..another big yellow C-M HT3..) was, but it'll come to me later. ..I ran across "..Larry, Moe & Curly.." somewhere, also. Hard workers, no smoke breaks, no potty breaks, no lunch breaks -- strictly business..!!!

John :-)
