Some proposal... I think it was also predictable - once globalization picked up pace.

From what I see, there is very little pressure on employers to increase wages. This makes inflation in prices unlikely -- what will have to happen instead, is a decline in spending.... which would lead to a contraction. Not a pretty picture at all.

Some years ago, I thought that Mexico would become a big deflationary factor in US and Canada under Nafta. Interestingly, that never happened.
