Then why is a much higher percentage of NO's black population below the poverty level than whites? That's supposed to be an argument for the idea that they are poor because of current racism?? Not "current" but after decades of racism. There are people in this country who point out that things have improved greatly for minorities during the past 30-40 years. Unfortunately, that gradual improvement does not begin to neutralize the damage that has been done. I suspect it will take another 30-40 years before things will start to even out. ted
