JohnM was making a point about what context state supported violence (i.e. war) is OK in. In the case of Iraq, IMO he left out an important point, namely how we would be viewed. That was my point. Our intentions may be the best possible given the conflicting problems in Iraq, but the locals still view us with something rather far from love. This is IMO, the major problem the US has faced in Iraq, and a problem largely ignored by the Bush administration, and most war hawks.
