A friend is a Presbyterian pastor in Ohio

One of the interesting things about this discussion to me is that you would call Presbyterians liberal and DMA would do the same for Lutherans. My knowledge of this subject is not experiential but rather what I've been able to glean over the years from the internet. I never saw either of those groups so classified. Just a matter or curiosity, nothing more...

I have cousins who attend the Riverside Church in NYC
They're the same way: in fact, worse than Pat Robertson, but from the left
They have no idea; it's like they're still mired in the 60's and nothing has changed for them

What a laugh:

"...writing a book on the underground railway..."

Ask her just How Many slaves did the underground railroad free??
Tell her it was the bayonets of the Union/Republican Army which freed the slaves. Everybody else was just jackin'. I wouldn't consider her "bright", dumb as a post maybe, but thats just Me. :)

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
