Many tribes evolved different cultures. This was done to deal with the different needs of their range. It the eastern mountains and along the sea shore tribes needed less range to survive. In the Great Plains tribes had to range hundreds of miles each year to obtain enough food. Different societal structures evolved to deal with the lifestyle chosen/required. No matter which tribe, all have been aggrieved by the European settlers.
