Congress cannot and should not try to rescue every improvident citizen. Many years ago I decided I was not going to count on social security or on my pension system. As it happens, both have worked out OK. But I am positioned to survive in relative comfort without either, so having them pays for dinners out, cruises, gifts, donations, etc.

But I do not believe in government subsidies for the rich, as our current person who occupies the trappings of something referred to as the presidency does.
