Californians are VERY provincial. I lived there a decade, but America is so homogenized, one place really is just like another. Same multiplexes, stores, malls, suburbs with their ticky tacky little houses and pretty much everything else.

I always thought Orange County was a fairly repellent place, what with it's "master planned" communities like Irvine - so sterile and dead, not an ounce of funk in 'em. I hear the Asians really like it though!
