Well, I've heard from a number of folks that the Republican
party in CA is not very good at fielding sensible candidates.
You'd think if they were moderately effective they would
easily unseat hard left wingers like Boxer, Pelosi* & CO.

Boxer could be knocked off with ease. And from the POV of the national party or the Prez, better a guy who votes with you 80%-90% of the time than Bozer, er, Boxer.

* On second thought, I doubt that even a liberal Republican
would be capable of unseating Pelosi in the SF area. They
would still be seen as a right wing extremist there.

Pelosi might be a problem. She's from the Berzerkeley area. I was talking statewide. Even Pelosi might be vulnerable given the right candidate.
