The Bush-Rove machine is a house of cards build on a foundation of lies and corruption. Their only hope of survival is to cover up and distract from the discovery of those lies. They also need to stop gas gouging and pandering to the far right. Plus they need solid success in Iraq, not just positive spin. They have a short reprieve between Thanksgiving and New Year because investigations have slowed down or are on hold, but now a possible Diebold scandal breaking out. And who knows what else? How many fires can they put out?
