Given the preceding posts, we are not surprised that alarmist of the inflationist and deflationist variety find evidence to support their viewpoints, as we would expect in an era of low and stable inflation (or deflation for that matter) to find some prices of goods and services deflating while others inflate. The picture that should be emerging from all the posts on this thread is that the US economy is not near to being plagued by stagflation, hyperinflation, deflationary depression, or any other of the nonsense that so many amateur observers are touting in the blog world.
