Wrong yet again, Mr Watson:

Message 21969540

In a heads up, I'm not sure you'd even beat a broken clock. I've never seen you right twice in a day...

"Since when does it take this many years to train an army?"
I think you underestimate Kevin. He should be entered in an all-time stupidity contest.

The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. Six months later they suffered a decisive naval defeat at Midway. But that battle wasn't fought by new Navy recruits- -it was mostly old Navy vets involved in it. The leadership certainly was. Admiral Spruance, in command of the US fleet, had 40 years in the US Navy.

Germany declared war on the US on December 11, 1941.

On November 8, 1942, the US launched Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa. The first major battle, the Battle of Kasserine Pass on February 19, 1943, was an American defeat. Patton then was promoted to Lieutenant General and replaced the commander of II Corps. By March, the German troops who had previously beaten the Americans were being driven back into Montgomery's grasp. Rommel was ordered by der Feuhrer to leave Africa to avoid capture and Afrika Korps was defeated by the British and Americans. This wasn't done by green troops fresh out of basic though. These boys had had some tough fighting, some of it under a very tough general.

In 1944, the Allies invaded France on D-Day. The troops involved in that landing faced some very tough fighting, but had had years of training for their jobs.

Kevin's statement is simply asinine. An army is not a mob.
