So, you think the new Iraqi army doesn't have any veterans from the old army?

You are a clay pigeon...

Watson, quit lying to yourself. Saddam had a huge standing army, many of whom were forced into it and had no loyalty to Saddam whatsoever. They're not "terrorists" or even thugs or criminals. They're just average Iraqis and they'll serve whoever the current master is.

Bush's inability to amass any kind of Iraqi army to do the dirty work instead of our troops is an outrage and there can be no excuses. It is further outrageous that when Kerry criticizes Bush for this the rightwing fabricates the lie that "Kerry call the troops terrorists". These very rightwing lies stop progress in Iraq and get our troops killed.

I submit that the failure to create an Iraqi army may be intentional on Bush's part. Because any one of us could have managed it by now. In fact, even a year ago. The notion that Saddam's army just vanished after we invaded in absurd. They're all there and they have plenty of basic military training. So use them, better late than never.

Snitch....can you cite any links that show we fought or destroyed the elite Republican Guard of Saddam....around 60,000 troops as I recall..... I don't think we engaged or destroyed them, they simply melted into Baghdad or environs and are probably the main part of the insurgents fighting us now....
