Online poker always makes a liar out of me. After saying I only played pot limit or no limit hold em, I jumped to a tournament table on PartyPoker and it turned out to be a limit tourney and I hadn't seen the notation. Big dummy! I got second place and kind of liked it.

I was trailing the chip leader when we got one on one, but felt I'd been playing great, as I hadn't had much in the way of cards during the earlier rounds. We did some sparring and I was getting the best of it. Then I pulled a pocket pair of jacks. I hadn't seen anything that pretty all night. The blinds were very high and after a raise and a re-raise, I was all in. That's when I discovered he had pocket queens. Ugh! No miracle jack appeared and I got second. Still, it was a very satisfying tournament. I may try more limit tournaments, though Party seems to be the only site to have a lot of them.
