Liberal and Conservative are subjective terms. American media is no doubt more conservative than the BBC.

Another thing about that analysis is that it equates attitudes of journalists with what they actually write about.


It has ZIPPO to do with what they write about, but HOW they write about it. And the slant in newspapers and radio news is almost universally liberal. (in line with the avowed predominance of liberal politics in media personnel.) A small, but typical example; On KYW radio in Philly the other day, it was reported (every hour) that the administration "PORTRAYED" a particular political decision in Iraq as being up to the Iraquis. "Portrayed" in this case is an obvious editorial comment! The implication being that the commentator, or whoever writes what will be stated, believes that the US would really control that decision.
