I'm not as ravenous for extensions as Bill. These are the ones that I use. Pretty basic.

I haven't noticed any difference between it and explorer so far.

First thing you do is open windows in the same window. That gives you tabs. Once you use those, you will never go back. My most useful extensions are "Rite of tongue" for spell check while posting like this [you highlight a word and right click. If there is a different spelling it will show up at the bottom of the column. You then click it and it replaces your spelling] and "copy URL." You highlight what you want, right click to "copy URL" and click it. You then bring the copy and the URL to your post in one move.

Open "tools" in your top navagation toolbar. Then click "extensions." At the bottom you will see "add more extensions." Click it and add all the popular ones plus the ones I have posted. You can't go wrong adding any that look interesting. You can always get rid of them.

Firefox sets on top of windows, so you can do all this without closing out windows. Make sure you get "adblock."

Well your message finally motivated me to download firefox 1.5. I am getting it for win2000 and linux i686.

I am using older versions of firefox. One of the customize that I always do for tab funcionality is this.

move mouse up to the blank area to the right of file edit .... help
right click up menu and select customize. I then drag and drop icons for History, Bookmarks, New Tab, and New Window. You can add space or flexible space.

you can also add a search window and a GO botton. These also can be added to the navigation bar below.

I just stared win2000 1.5, did it remember my last customise? well have fun.
