The model was exactly the same. A small cadre of experience, and a large number of recruits. Except in the US WWII case, nearly all the recruits really were raw. Two years after the start of the war, we had earned many victories with these 'green troops'. You choose to pick the one defeat and ignore the many victories of these green troops. But, the Iraqi forces today are nowhere near as combat ready as our troops were two years into the fight. What's with the 4-1? What kind of 'score' do you keep?
