What I don't get is what Hastert is doing. Is he afraid of Delay? Does he think that having an indicted politico at the head of the House is a PR bonanza?

What happens if he keeps House business in limbo and Delay is convicted?

The entire thing is bizarre. There are plenty of Republicans to take Delay's place (too many of them) and Delay's own district doesn't want him either.

It's unbelievable. Republicans putting Delay's criminal legal proceedings ahead of the business of the country in a time of war.
