18:17 DELL Dell Conference Call Summary (31.96 +0.19) -Update-

Notes they had an extra week in the quarter that gave them an extra 2-3 points in growth... Co says grew faster than the market and are taking share across portfolio and geographic area...says Y06 shaping up to be a great year... says business in India is reflecting the same growth they saw in China a few years ago... Asked why gross margins deteriorated so significantly: co says they overachieved on the revenue and EPS line; says yes margins came down but they expected that; says they were more aggressive on pricing; this is the way they want to work the model over time... Co has not seen anything in Jan or Feb in terms of a market slowdown; co just believes the guidance they gave is a more prudent way to plan out and balance... asked about AMD: co says they have nothing to add; always looking at technology; says they see no need to change at this time; co says not an exclusive buyer of Intel... not expecting lay offs, they are growing their business... co considers share repurchase as much operating as anything else... co says consumer growth has not been as strong as in the past but has still been pretty strong; states DSO always declines in Q4... component cost: slightly above the average at this point; says would not give pause to over or underaccelerate the market... co states competitively they have been doing well with their profitability... HPQ making it harder to grow on printer side?: co says they do not think so; believe they have been open to that; states they have not found it harder to grow cause of them, says they rarely compete head to head... believe the Europe should grow in the 1.8-2.0x faster than the U.S. does... co says plan is to have opex below 10%... does believe there is upside to their guidance.
