What surprised me about this article was that ONLY 64 percent of the officers think we'll succeed? That means 36 percent of officers in an all volunteer force believe we're not going to succeed - that's astonishing.

The precipitous withdrawal of U.S. troops would almost certainly lead to a violent and destabilizing civil war

The longer we screw up their country, the greater the chance that there will be a civil war. Private faction armies are already in place, under the guise of 'security forces'. The longer we hold these combatants apart, IMO, the more fiercely they'll fight once we're gone.

We shattered the glass with a hammer, and are now attempting to repair that glass with that same hammer...
