Shocking that they are not blaming Q for them being unable to compete. Another testimony by one of the complaintants themselves that Q's royalties aren't causing UMTS handset prices to be higher than they should be.

So far NOK, Panasonic, Siemens and now NEC have either thrown in the towel or scaled back their competition to Q.
IJ did state that over time that HS manufacturers will find it more economical to go with outsourced chips rather than in house chips(re wcdma).

Well if the torrid pace of R&D spending is having the effect of the competition saying we can't keep this pace up and make money than OK to significant increases in R&D.
