No it wouldn't. If for no other reason, Bush specifically noted that he didn't want to serve outside of the country. And, like longnshort, they like to pretend that flying those jets he was exposed to just as much danger as if he had gone to Vietnam. While true, they sometimes managed to ace themselves, it often was because they were doing something they weren't supposed to do.

"Hey, look! Some cows! Why don't we buzz them? What are those poles?... In a tragic accident, a National Guard pilot was killed when he collided with some electrical lines on a routine training flight...".
