I'm okay with Costner, but Robert Duvall was the standout in that movie. He is very talented in my opinion.

There are few who can play a believable cowboy today. The days of John Wayne, Paladin, Clint Eastwood, Richard Widmark, Alan Ladd, Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda etc. are long gone. Too bad. The vast majority of actors today are crap.

I'm no movie expert nor critic but I think that the basic problem is that too many actors are given huge starring roles at a very young age when they haven't even come to close to their acting maturity. There are exceptions. I'm okay with Johnny Depp, as an example. Sean Penn (political idiot) has turned into a decent actor.

The best thing about today's movies are the brilliant, uncanny sound effects and film footage!
