Good question, and I'm not sure I know how to answer.

Michael Moore makes no bones about trying to remake my beliefs, which I appreciate because I just avoid his movies altogether. Sometimes I can avoid movies on the basis of who stars in them. Although I do realize they are just trying to make a buck, if I see some actors that have demonstrated leftwing causes off screen, I have no interest in how good they can act on screen.

I don't object to violence in movies, but movies with gratuitous violence are a waste of time. I don't enjoy cars being destroyed, and I especially don't enjoy movies that depict firearms abuse. By 'firearms abuse' I mean gratuitous, unsafe, improper, indiscriminant, and excessive use of firearms. Mel Gibson's Lethal Weapon series are in this genre. His The Patriot was a horse of a different color, and I enjoyed it.
