The short answer is, because that is what gardeners do. The fact is that the world has changed. There is no longer an over there that is distinct from over here. Over here the culture of over there has been blending in for decades. Our culture has been influencing theirs to a major extent for much longer. We're cross pollinated. The recent events in France and Australia should be an eye opener to what we have to look forward to as these demographic trends continue at an accelerating pace. Our interests are theirs and visa versa.
