The government of Sudan is left wing? First I heard of it...

I hope you approve of this information link...

Come to think of it, are the main opponents in that war in the Sudan, the SPLA, left wing either?

Alleged pope incarnate excommunicated
Bishop also issues warning to woman claiming to be Virgin Mary

MAYAGUEZ, Puerto Rico (AP) -- A Roman Catholic bishop here has excommunicated members of a communal sect whose leader allegedly claims to be a manifestation of the late Pope John Paul II.

Sect leader Edwin Gonzalez Concepcion and his followers can no longer receive communion or participate in church activities, according to the order issued by Mayaguez Bishop Ulises Casiano Vargas.

Gonzalez, a former firefighter in the town of Aguada, has told his followers that he became a manifestation of John Paul when the pope died in April and that Pope Benedict XVI is the "antichrist," according to the order, which priests in the diocese read to their congregations Sunday.

Members of the group couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

The bishop also alleged that another sect leader, Gladys Miranda, claims she is the Virgin Mary, and that followers of the group make it hard for parishioners to receive communion by lying face-down in the aisle.

"After many public and private warnings ... these brothers refuse to abandon their practices and repeatedly continue their affirmations that are contrary to the Catholic faith," the bishop wrote.

The church said several women and children live in the group's home about two hours west of San Juan, the capital.

Mathematically it is trivial to prove PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH, the VP, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh are all 10,000 times more aligned with Cuba and the other kleptocrasies than the current German Pope. I don't know any informed Catholics who hang on the Pope's every pronouncement.

Any informed Catholic knows the Pope seldom to never make pronouncements that will effect any aspect of their earthly or spiritual life. And if it is important, their local priest will speak of it and what it means.

No matter what it is about, I suspect some MSM will have a story on how it is hate speak about somebody. If not MSM, the local chapter of I have Catholic friends who say and will explain it as satanic verses. I expect dozens of dumb and contradictory analysis to be proffered.

What's happening to the *conservatives*, Peter?

Wasn't it just a little while ago all of FOX NEWS was alight with reverential praise for the reputedly arch-conservative new Pope?

Didn't Bush II, the most fiscally liberal President since FDR, and the biggest expander of government entitlements since the Great Society, run for reelection with the feverent support of most 'conservatives'? (Admittedly, he ran for election to the office the first time as a 'compassionate conservative'... whatever the Hell that is. Maybe it was some kind of clue to his fiscally liberal spendthrift ways....)
