I just saw "Cinderella Man." I'm no boxing aficionado, but the movie was more about values than boxing. My favorite scene was where Russell Crowed went to the welfare office and paid back the dole he had got to feed his family.

We rented a Harry Potter movie and hated it. It was well done, but is just not our type. Same with Lord of the Rings. Narnia has a different background; haven't decided whether to go for it yet.

I was in a pawn shop the other day. It had racks and racks of movies, relatively recent, I had never heard of. Hard for me to judge the work of Hollywood in its entirety when 90% of its output is underneath my radar.

IMO, these films are pleasant aberrations from the usual disappointing Hollywood fare, and the slump will resume once we get into the new year.
