We read 22 papers and wrote 1 page summaries. We had to do a presentation on 2 of them, supposedly for 30 minutes each, but usually lasting 1 to 2 hours. On the final we had to critique papers, analyze the systems and compare and contrast various approaches. This one today was on profiling and modeling semiconductor devices. My head still hurts. We're doing peer to peer teaching next quarter. I am not looking forward to it. We have some major critics in class.Oh, a class project. Yeah, those can be tough. I've seen too many go down the tubes because something happened during the crunch. I keep multiple backups, including a thumb drive, on my CS account and my EE account. If the USB port and the network is down, I am screwed, but the prof can't say I was unprepared for contingencies... I should explain......the whole thing was messed up. Because people tend to be more computer savvy these days they decided to put two required computer classes into one quarter. And it would have worked had they not required some stupid stuff like annotated bibliographies or a 5 page paper on why technology is good or bad for the classroom after reading 8 articles on the subject. They should have stuck just to the Powerpoint presentations, websites, webquest, spreadsheets etc.........real computer stuff requiring different applications. The result was that everything got mashed together......and the new stuff for me like publishing to the Web, building hyperlinks, or the advanced PP presentation, I had to jam through to get done. And I am one of those people who does not retain new stuff when I cram it in for a final or for a website posting. I really liked the class and the instructor was very knowledgeable. I would have liked it to be a little more relaxed. ted
