EU's Barroso says UK 'not realistic' to link budget rebate to farm subsidies BRUSSELS (AFX) - European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso criticised the latest EU budget offer from the bloc's UK presidency as "not enough"

Speaking ahead of a two-day EU summit opening here tomorrow, Barroso also said the UK is "not realistic" in making cuts to its budget rebate conditional on reductions to European farm subsidies

Yep, "we're nearing the end of the tightening campaign" should be the most frightening statement for a stock investor to hear. Historically speaking, that's when accidents happen. Not when rates are falling, or even when they start rising, but when the Fed starts thinking they've engineering the perfect three-point landing.
