Sony cameras found defective

cctv.com 12-14-2005 12:08

Spotchecks on six types of Sony's digital cameras have found defects in areas such as image quality and automatic exposure. As a result they have recently been taken off the shelves in east China's Zhejiang province. The Zhejiang provincial industrial and commercial bureau made the announcement, saying that the bureau has begun a formal investigation into the defective Sony cameras.

A total of 30 batches of products were involved in the six reported types of Sony cameras, namely the Sony DSC-H1, DSC-P200, DSC-W5, and DSC-s90. The bureau said the Sony DSC-H1 and DSC L1, produced in Sony's Shanghai factory, were found to have problems in the image balance, white balance, automatic exposure and LCD brightness controls. Problems in the other four types, made in Sony's Wuxi factory, were also found in the image balance and automatic exposure features.
