You should have that stenciled on a coffee cup and revue it each morning.



The Laffer curve isn't even an idea that can be tried, it is a description of how things work. Nothing silly about that.

The idea that can and has been tried that is somewhat related to the Laffer curve has been called "supply side economics". But it isn't the same thing. Supply side economics is the idea that lower taxes (preferably combined with a moderate regulatory regime) will normally create faster economic growth. That idea has been tried a number of times. The evidence suggest that it often works.
