Bill, environmentalists are people who fret about destruction of the environment independent of and oblivious (clueless) to any collectivism agenda that may or may not have had its fingers in the pie.

Most are. But the movement is run by and fundraised by hard leftists. They write the magazines and run the organizations. All politicians use front groups when they can. But the left is famous for it. The communist movement hid behind them all through the 20th century. These same people use them today.

I just read a long blog report, with pictures. of the "save Tookie" groups outside the prison this week. They were 99% Socialist workers party, ANSWER, etc. Saving people from crimes has always been an enormous organizational and fundraising opportunity for the left. The "Scottsboro five" case is a classic example. Doesn't make any difference to the left what the outcome is, they gain strength and money from the action.

I like the expression, "refugee socialists" to describe the people who run the environmental movement today.

They don't have to be able to articulate the idea in order to be motivated by it.

Every environmentalist I've ever met has been anti-capitalist.
