Do you think Cingular will go Flo. If not who if anybody else do you see going Flo.

Unfortunately, Qualcomm's ability to convince GSM operators to adopt any of their technology leaves a lot to be desired and I doubt that it is going to change with MediaFLO. Their window of oppornutity is closing and unless they get an agreement with either Cingular or a major European operator in the next several months, MediaFLO will be a CDMA only technology. The problem is that GSM operators are very leary of adopting a technology that requires them to lose their economies of scale. Cingular is already using a different band than most of the world, are they also going to want to require a different video chip?

I really think that Sprint is the more interesting question. They have always tried to differentiate their services (and Nextel did to an even greater degree)....so will they adopt MediaFLO which will clearly provide better economics than transmitting video over their own DO network? I still think that Sprint might have to go with FLO despite what hatoncat said.

Beyond those two, I fully expect the smaller CDMA operators to go with FLO.....Alltel, US Cellular, Leap and some of the MVNO's.
