JCP, Because Asians, due to their Confucian indoctrination, have an inordinate respect and subordination to authority. Once the Japanese emperor surrendered, the entire population capitulated like a beaten dog turning it's belly to it's attacker.

The Japanese emperor didn't surrender because we asked him "Pretty please?" He only surrendered after America basically kicked the shit out of Japan. No other way of putting it.
