"Some of us got extremely pissed about that"

That is an understatement--but somehow we seem to be addressing different topics. Perhaps we should start over.

"Think they liked it?"

No. And I don't think the terrorists will like the final results, either. Smallpox didn't like it either. <g>

"In the long run we are all dead."

But as Lucretius said. Life goes on. It is the lives, the lives, the lives that die...

In the long run, the earth and the sun and the entire solar system, galaxy, etc. are all dead. So is this the final argument?

"Try bribed yellow bellied cowards."

How many countries/groups has the U.S. bribed or coerced?! You make it sound like a dirty word! And the Shah came back...

"In any case, the initial acceleration would turn any mere hurman into red jelly."

You sure about the color?!

"What's that mean in English?"

Nixon's visit to China was one of the significant events/vectors of world history. The landing on the moon was another. The steam engine was another. The cotton gin another. The defeat of Hitler another. The printing press another. The containment of WMD's by a united world effort (the only way it can be done)...MIGHT be another. Let us hope so. As Einstein said (paraphrased). If there is another world war--the next one after that will be fought with rocks.
