I lectured you on anarchy because it seemed that you were lecturing me that collectivism was inherent in environmental regulation. It's pretty obvious to me that neither collectivism nor anarchy is optimal.

Your comment about smart growth - a loaded term - came immediately after you made the distinction between wealth and "personal" wealth. What was up with that?


I didn't know that it was a loaded term. We "environmentalists" use it all the time to mean the space on the continuum between no growth and wanton growth. I meant it to convey that all growth isn't necessarily wise. If our number one industry becomes prostitution rather than technology, for example, should we be comforted that the GNP is headed up, for now?
