No no no. I am all for adjustments when overshooting but RR went after spending as well as taxes. In the end Bush 41 tax increase was a tweak followed by a clinton tweak which would have led to a gore tweak follwoed by a kerry tweak. Once it starts it never stops.
An adjustment may be necessary now too but if followed by democratic rule watch out. I would rather have deficits than krugonomics. mike

Economic growth was hardly modest and was most likely weakened by Bush Sr's "correction". Actually taxes were raised before Bush Sr. became president. Reagan partially undid his tax cut. But that specific detail might not be important to either of our arguments.

Tax revenue went way up, but unfortunately spending went up even more. Its common to point to the increase in military spending but that wasn't all of it. Federal non-military spending also increased under Reagan.
