"Considering the exceptional circumstances, the revovery was miraculous."

That might be a bit strong. The recession we recovered from was one of the mildest and shortest on records... and the '9-11 shock' to the system was far more modest (according to C.B.O., G.A.O., etc, etc) and of far shorter duration then, for example, the shock our economy is under right now from higher energy prices, to name one thing. Our economy (if not our national psyche) is far past that economic effect now.

"It was miraculous because it was reversed prematurely"

Eh? Do not understand what you are saying above....

"and would likely have been crippling without the tax cuts."

As I pointed out in my previous post, there are tax cuts, and then there are TAX CUTS.

I believe we could have been FAR WISER with the tax cuts made (for example: Bush chickened out when it came to dividends. Dividends paid out should be a 100% tax deduction TO THE CORPORATION. By rights, they are a 'business expense').

If he had gone with THAT DECISION (which was recommended to him by his tax panel) we would have REALLY seen some STIMULATION....

Some of the gimmicks they came up with (one year-only lowered rate for repatriation of foreign-sourced corporate earnings, etc.) don't have a lot of 'wind' to them.

And it's a positive CRIME they have AXED comprehensive tax reform.

PS --- it would be polite if Scott appologized for lying, too:
