Now they're allied with liberals who fear a return to McCarthyism and Nixonian anti peace movement abuses. Don't be surprised if the Patriot Act (which was passed so quickly in 2002 no one even read it, and who wrote it up?) is stopped for a thorough re-writing. This would be the second Bush loss of the week, after the torture ban, where Bush performed a notable flip-flop.
