Moore is a liar so of course he denies the claims. The book is extraordinary well documented. Media credits are publicly available info.

Moore claimed in Stupid White Men not to own a single share of stock. The same year the book came out - 1999 - his foundation filed a tax return showing it owned hundreds of thousands of dollars in stocks and bonds. BTW his foundation gives away the minimum amount legally necessary and that is given to film societies which promote his works.

The biggest hypocrite skewered in the book in my mind was Nancy Pelosi. She has nominated Cesar Chavez for a Congressional Gold Medal, has been given the Cesar Chavez award by the United Farm Workers union, and claims to be a staunch supporter of both unions and Chavez. Yet her and her husband own a Napa valley vineyard worth $25 million and interests in two CA wineries. The Pelosi vineyard, the wineries they own interests in, and the vineyards they sell their grapes to are all non-union. The Pelosi's are big players in the CA wine industry and are completely non-union - so what is going on in her mind when she publicly associates herself with Cesar Chavez? I can only assume she is thinking these people are such stupid saps.
