Regardless... by late '06 we will be in draw-down mode. By mid '07 we will be significantly reduced. And, just possibly, before election in late '08, we will 'mostly' be out (except for training groups, some special forces, regional air power, etc.) All those tens of $ Billions we are paying to construct dozens of 'permanent' bases in Iraq (except for sites in Kurdistan) will mostly be 'wasted'... we won't have use of them (certainly not in the Sunni areas, once their local government gets going, nor most likely in the Shiite south....)
