I disagree that folks like Duke are "anti-American". What they have is a very different vision of America. Calling them anti-American serves no purpose, imo. That's like saying the Nazis were "anti-German" because you don't like what they did- and it ignores all the real arguments- the arguments that one really needs to make- which is why I so hate the illogical business of name-calling. What you mean (I hope) is that they are not aligned with your vision of America.

Please do not post to me about who you think is anti- American. I don't care that it's not me- that isn't the issue at all, and I don't intend to assist that meme by allowing it to pass without criticism. Take them (whoever they are) to task for their ideas- feel free to say the ideas don't fit in with your ideal of America- but labeling people "anti-American" really repulses me. If you continue to do it, I won't read your posts. I just can't tell you how much that sort of thing bothers me. We all have things that bother us- that particular tactic, smelling as it does of the McCarthyism I loathe, really sickens me.

And I KNOW my belief that the Iraq war was dumb does not make the results less important now. You should know that I know that, since I have said exactly that many times.
