I am a big fan of Greenfield. He nails it on iran having hegemonic regional goals. Iran needs to be contained no doubt. In an earlier post probably on another thread i said that what differentiates iran from al quaeda is that one is regional and the other global. I expanded on that and iran is like stalin russia while al quaeda was more like hitler. Iran needs to be contained. I think they view shiaa iraq as a buffer for them against the sunni arabs. But their fears must be taken into account as well so good relations between the new iraq and iran are important too so the iranians dont get paranoid and do something stupid. mike
