Welcome to the group.

"After studying Hulbert's newsletter recommendations for the best performing newsletters over a 20 yr period, found that Brinker Marketimer was listed in the top 5."

I don't understand how that can be. None of Brinker's portfolios are 20 years old.

According to a Hulbert report I have, Brinker started his first newsletter in 1986 and restarted the newsletter with two NEW portfolios on Jan 1, 1988 after two years of poor performance. He added a third portfolio, P3 in 1990. See pg 8 of his newsletter for the starting dates of his portfolios.

I have the most recent issue of Hulbert and Brinker's newsletter doesn't show up on page 8 for top 5 performers for any 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 year category on pure performance. Brinker does show up in 5th place for 10 years and 4th place for 15 years when adjusted for risk.

I'm curious, why didn't you choose some of the higher performing newsletters to follow such as "NoLoad FundX" or "NoLoad Fund Investor" that score higher in most categories? Did you like his radio voice?
