I showed her a whole world of Christian left-wing political activism. I think she is trying to make the point that while there are people who strongly identify as Christian, who are also very left-wing, she thinks that they are more Christians and leftists, then left wing people who political views are deeply intertwined with their theology, and whose political actions are seen as also being a religious expression. I think that there is more connection among many left-wing than she thinks, but I would buy the idea that there are more American Christians on the political right who have such a strong connection than there are American left-wing Christians.
