Gone? As in cut out of the legislation? I didn't see anything about that. The modifications made to the legislation were pretty minor, to the best of my knowledge.

This gives the enemy about 12 days to get themselves in order to start doing the things they were doing before the Patriot Act. Dec 31, 2005 is the end of those items unless Congress does something smart for a change in the short few days they still can.
