That's one of the best defenses of the Patriot act that I have read.

As far as the delayed search warrants. How delayed can they be? Both with section 213 and without?

Do you recall a discussion a long time ago on the Left Wing Porch about balancing check books? So many people "felt" as though they HAD to balance their checkbooks. Some thought there was some actual requirement. Others just wouldn't feel comfortable not doing it. By the end of the discussion, several people had concluded that it was more trouble than it's worth. They just hadn't thought critically about it before. I wonder if the privacy question isn't similar.
