Lexington company gets $5.3 million contract

A division of Wicklund Holding Co. (Pink Sheets: WKDH.PK), a Lexington, Ky.-based technology company that develops uses for recycled plastics, has completed a two-year, $5.3 million sales contract for its concrete rebar support system.

Under the contract, Wicklund will provide its patented systems to an unnamed client. The plastic supports are used to hold concrete rebar during the pouring of concrete. The system then becomes part of concrete structures such as bridges, highways and buildings.

Jim Turek, president of Wicklund Holdings, said in the release that the contract "sets the tone of acceptance for the use of recycled plastics in the mainstream of construction."

He added that the contract "potentially eliminates several million pounds of plastics from our nation's landfills yearly."
