Losing your freedoms is not an on/off type of thing. It is a gradual thing. By the time people like you wake up it will be too late. Like it was for your fellow Germans. On the other hand, there were the morons who didn't think anything of it. Just like these: amazon.com

They are the same ones that cheered for the regime and watched while they called their fellow citizens unpatriotic after labeling them traitors for resisting the regime.
